Engineering
These experiments can involve extreme temperatures, pressures and magnetic fields, so Tristan uses his creativity skills and logical thinking to develop unusual materials and assembly techniques. His work helps scientists explore new areas of research, by providing new and improved tools for their experiments.
Tristan is a maker who combines skills from both physics and art. Growing up, he enjoyed sewing and fibre crafts, and studied textiles rather than engineering at GCSE. The practical skills he learned still help him in his work today. He is curious about how things work and enjoys turning ideas into solutions.
