Test your GCSE Physics knowledge in an online escape room.
RAL Space has collaborated with Dr Dan Cooper from TestTube Revise to create a virtual escape room as an interactive revision resource. The content has been designed for GCSE, National 5 and Junior Cycle Physics course curricula.
In the virtual escape room, students are challenged to recover a password to access vital data for launching a new spacecraft. The password components are found by using physics skills, solving equations and exploring RAL Space’s laboratories and facilities for clues. Throughout the game students can also learn about RAL Space projects and meet some of the teams to find out what their jobs involve, highlighting a range of career pathways and opportunities.
The escape room should take between 30-60 minutes. We recommend that students have a calculator, paper and pen paper to hand in order to work through and record their answers.
The project was funded and supported by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
We encourage all escape room participants to share their experiences with us in a short survey.
