Each year at STFC, we are proud to run a highly successful work experience programme online and in person at Daresbury Laboratory, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and Royal Observatory Edinburgh. For the Summer 2026 programme, the work experience team will be delivering online work experience placements from 22 – 26 June 2026.

STFC Work Experience programmes are open to young people who are living in the UK and in full time education in Years 10-13 in England and Wales, S4-S6 in Scotland and Years 11-14 in Northern Ireland. STFC online work experience is open to young people who live further than one hour’s drive from a STFC National Lab site that is currently delivering in person work experience, or to young people who have access needs or barriers that make it a challenge to attend work experience in person, including transportation.
