We often see images of tiny things like viruses in the news, but how do we know what they look like, and why is that important?

Join online to meet Dr Mark Basham, Science Director and Challenge Lead at the Rosalind Franklin Institute, as we explore the world of the small, and why we need such big instruments to look at them. We will also look at the amazing Fifi the llama, and the work she does to help understand, and even treat, new viruses, and how it takes a mix of all sorts of people, including you, to fully understand the fascinating world of the nanoscale.

From nanoscale mysteries to virus‑fighting llamas—learn how science reveals the unseen world around us!
