Join us for Doors Open Days- an amazing chance to see behind the scenes at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh and find out about the people who work here! You will get a chance to learn more about the out-of-this-world work, both past and present, being done right here in Edinburgh at the organisation based on site at the Observatory: Edinburgh University’s Institute for Astronomy, The UK Astronomy Technology Centre and Higgs Centre for Innovation. Activities across the weekend include a chance to talk to Engineers and Astronomers, astronomy crafts, handle meteorites, telescope dome tours and an opportunity to hear from exciting start-up companies.

Doors Open Days 2025 was on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September 2025. Dates for Doors Open Days 2026 will be confirmed in Spring 2026.
